Poorman’s 15 Minutes of Fame: Jill Emery

[About her art] Basically, you’re gonna find folk expressionism. It could be, like, death playing some drums, and he’s just trying to keep the timing, you know. I just have a couple of them over at this new show, and death plays a big part in my paintings as well as animals and animal rights bands. You know, anything from Patti Smith to Bob Dylan to Fugazi, bands I love. So I’ll do an ode to them, an homage, stuff like that. Whatever I feel, you know, and it feels good. It feels hilarious to me and cathartic.
